Chad is a Licensed Professional Counselor and member of the American Association of Christian Counselors with 7 years of experience in the mental health field. He works with clients in age range from teens to older adults, both men and women, on a wide variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, and certain addictions. He offers a strong integration of Christian faith-based practices when desired by the client. Chad is certified in SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) premarital counseling and experienced in guiding people through dealing with false self-identity beliefs using Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM).
What I Do at Resolutions
I work with people who are facing anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, spiritual issues, and some addictions, with the focus of helping them reach their goals for counseling. I specialize in working with men of all ages overcome feelings and beliefs related to shame (e.g., "I am worthless," "I am not good enough," "I am not important," "I don’t matter," etc.), addiction to pornography, and other sex-based addictions. I also help clients struggling with deeply-rooted false beliefs about self-identity and state of being that drive undesired feelings and behaviors. I often use Transformation Prayer Ministry to help clients resolve these kind of self-identity struggles.
Working With Me
I aim to keep sessions casual, comfortable, and conversational while we work together to help you get to the goals you want to achieve. In our first few sessions, my intention is to provide an environment where you feel safe and heard, and to help clarify where you want to go in counseling. We may modify or completely replace those goals as time goes on, but will always try to work towards our latest established goals. I want to help people experience the freedom, victory, and abundant life that the Bible would tell us we can be living. Because of that, I provide an overt integration of Christian faith and beliefs in my counseling for those that would desire it, but I am also comfortable counseling those that do not want a faith integration.
Outside of Resolutions
I currently work full-time as a bridge engineer for the WV Division of Highways, but am hoping to shift entirely to professional counseling as my full-time career in the near future. I am a married father of four children who currently range from teens to young adults. I love to spend time with my family and attend my kids’ activities. I like to stay active when possible, and like many West Virginians I enjoy fishing, hunting, and just experiencing the beautiful outdoors of our great state.
